where my shadow reflects

-

Where my Shadow Reflects is about the simultaneous feeling of shame and regression I felt going back to my hometown. I felt a duality in my sense of place: away from home, I was realizing my queer identity, but at home I felt as if I had to fit within the expectation of my previous, straight acting persona. I searched the Oklahoma landscape for metaphor, which helped me realize how my home and new identity could coexist.
